Safe Parks, Safe Parks for Sacramento, and the Sacramento Regional Park Safety initiative are intended as a concept for discussion concerning regional approaches to park safety, security, coordination, communication, and related public resources. The initiative concerns parks and recreation agencies throughout the Sacramento region and is not specific to any individual park district, public agency, park, facility, or location.
Safe Parks is not an official program, project, policy, position, endorsement, or initiative of any individual park district, public agency, or governmental entity.
Safe Parks is not a campaign program, campaign position, campaign project, or campaign activity, and it is not endorsed, sponsored, authorized, or operated by any political campaign.
Safe Parks was developed before any current campaign and was not created as a campaign program, campaign position, campaign project, or campaign activity. Its creation, development, and existence therefore predate and are separate from any campaign, candidacy, or election.
References to individual park districts, public agencies, organizations, businesses, or other entities in Safe Parks materials are not intended to suggest that those entities have endorsed, participated in, authorized, or agreed with the initiative or any particular proposal. The initiative is intended to illustrate the concept of regional cooperation and to facilitate discussion about how such cooperation might potentially be structured.
At various stages of development, Safe Parks materials have included the names or logos of some, but not all, park districts within Sacramento County. The inclusion of some districts and not others was not intended to include, exclude, favor, criticize, rank, slight, or otherwise characterize any particular district. The initial concept contemplated beginning with park districts in the northern portion of Sacramento County based on an operational approach to regional coordination, with the possibility that additional districts, including districts in the southern portion of the county, could be included at a later stage. The selection of districts depicted in the materials therefore reflected the contemplated operational scope at that stage and was not intended as a statement concerning the merits, performance, importance, or willingness to participate of any district that was not depicted.
Any logos, names, trademarks, or other identifying marks appearing in Safe Parks materials are used solely for illustrative purposes to demonstrate what a potential regional partnership, coordination effort, or public-safety initiative might look like. Their inclusion is not intended to imply sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, authorization, participation, approval, or adoption by the entities represented. No representation is made that any depicted entity has agreed to participate in Safe Parks.
Similarly, photographs, illustrations, graphics, signs, facilities, or other images used in Safe Parks materials are illustrative rather than representative of any particular park, park district, agency, facility, location, or condition unless expressly identified as such. They are intended to illustrate common or recognizable park-safety, security, accessibility, maintenance, communication, or related issues that may exist in different communities to varying degrees, or may or may not exist at all in a particular district. The use of an image should not be interpreted as a statement that the depicted condition exists at a particular park or that a particular park district has a particular deficiency or safety problem.
Safe Parks materials are intended to facilitate discussion, identify potential areas of regional cooperation, and present ideas for consideration. They do not purport to establish existing agreements, partnerships, deficiencies, commitments, or governmental positions. Any actual regional program or partnership would require independent consideration, consultation, authorization, and action by the appropriate public agencies and other participating entities.
When presented accurately and in its intended context as a concept for regional park safety and cooperation, Safe Parks has received positive and constructive reactions. Such reactions, however, should not be construed as formal endorsement, authorization, or adoption by any individual, organization, park district, or governmental entity. Any characterization of Safe Parks should be based on the nature, purpose, and content of the initiative itself and should not attribute to it positions, commitments, agreements, representations, or governmental actions that it does not purport to make.
The Safe Parks materials have been made available through both a standalone website and a personal public-facing website. Before the current campaign, the personal public-facing website provided a way for people to obtain information and connect regarding public issues, or other matters of general interest, and Safe Parks materials were included there. The website was subsequently changed to serve as a campaign website, while the Safe Parks materials continued to be available there to facilitate discussion of regional park safety and potential cooperation. The continued availability of the materials on a campaign website does not, by itself, change their original purpose, development, or status as a pre-existing regional park-safety concept, nor does it make Safe Parks a campaign program, campaign position, campaign project, or campaign activity.
Nothing in Safe Parks materials should be construed as representing the official position of any public agency, park district, elected body, campaign, candidate, or other entity unless expressly stated and independently authorized by that entity.
The purpose of these materials is to illustrate, discuss, and visualize a potential partnership. The use of names, logos, images, or other identifying material is intended to assist that discussion and should not be construed as evidence of an existing partnership, endorsement, authorization, commitment, or representation concerning any particular public agency, park, organization, or individual.
